Introducing the VIK-2K.mini EW System: Compact Drone Protection for Infantry
Infantry units often move under cover, and every extra kilogram of gear costs them speed and maneuverability. At the same time, the drone threat doesn’t disappear during a march: FPV drones and reconnaissance UAVs such as the DJI Mavic accompany the unit throughout its advance.
That’s why a portable EW system for infantry has to meet three requirements at once: it must be lightweight, autonomous, and not get in the way of the soldier’s main task. Unlike stationary systems tied to a position or a vehicle, this kind of device moves with the unit and remains ready to operate at any time.
Defika’s answer to this challenge is the new VIK-2K.mini, a portable electronic warfare device a soldier can mount directly on their own backpack and switch on independently, without anyone else’s help.
VIK-2K.mini EW System: Compact Drone Protection for Infantry on the Move
The VIK-2K.mini is an ultra-compact version of the VIK line, built specifically for soldiers who are constantly on the move. The device weighs up to 5 kg and mounts directly onto a tactical backpack or gear via a standard MOLLE attachment. This lets a soldier move on their own without needing a fellow soldier to carry the extra equipment.
Despite its minimal size, the VIK-2K.mini doesn’t compromise on power: 100 W of combined output across two operating bands delivers a jamming range starting from 120 m. The one-piece aluminum housing withstands field conditions – temperature swings, dust, and moisture – and active cooling lets the system run for extended periods without overheating.
How the VIK-2K.mini Protects Against FPV and Mavic-Type Drones
The device generates interference simultaneously in the two standard operating bands used by drones – 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz – where most DJI Mavic-type and FPV drones operate. This one compact EW system blocks the control and video-link channels of most threats infantry face on the march – from reconnaissance drones to munition-dropping FPVs. The VIK-2K.mini’s core purpose is protecting mobile assault groups while advancing or deploying to a position.
When it comes to EW against FPV drones, reaction speed is what matters most. The VIK-2K.mini deploys within minutes and is ready to operate immediately, so a soldier can switch on protection the moment a threat appears – not waiting for someone to set up a stationary system.
Advantages of the VIK-2K.mini for Mobile Units
- Minimal weight – up to 5 kg, one of the lightest EW devices in Defika’s lineup
- Compact form factor that mounts directly onto the soldier’s backpack
- The soldier moves independently, with no need for a fellow soldier to carry the equipment
- Fast deployment and instant readiness for operation
- Jamming in two bands at once – 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz
- Up to 2 hours of autonomous operation on swappable batteries, with quick battery replacement
- Three power options: from the standard battery, from a 220 V mains supply with simultaneous battery charging, or from external 12-28 V power sources

Who the VIK-2K.mini Is For
The VIK-2K.mini is designed for those who need drone protection most while on the move:
- Assault and mobile groups advancing to a position
- Reconnaissance units for whom minimal gear weight is critical
- Soldiers escorting vehicles or logistics routes on foot
- Units that need fast, localized coverage without deploying a stationary system
How to Buy the VIK-2K.mini EW System
Defika is a Ukrainian manufacturer with Ministry of Defense codification, supplying EW systems, including under contracts through the Defense Procurement Agency. This means the VIK-2K.mini EW system can be purchased both for a unit’s own needs and through official procurement procedures. To buy the VIK-2K.mini or get advice on the configuration for a specific task, submit a request or contact the Defika team by phone.
