Why Electronic Warfare Systems Are the Shield of Modern War

The widespread use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has dramatically reshaped the nature of combat in the full-scale russian-Ukrainian war. The global community is witnessing a new stage in the evolution of warfare: our war is now often referred to as a “war of drones,” and electronic warfare (EW) systems have become one of the key tools protecting Ukrainian troops on the front lines. In this environment, EW is critical in countering enemy reconnaissance, artillery targeting, and aerial attacks.

The Role of Electronic Warfare in the War

The enemy is actively deploying drones to detect Ukrainian troop positions, guide artillery fire, and deliver explosives. In response, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are increasingly employing modern EW systems capable of disrupting drone control, communication, and navigation channels.
